Yesterday I met the sassiest boy in America, also known as Ian Svenonius of Nation of Ulysses, The Make-Up and currently Chain and The Gang. I warmly recommed the satirical essays in The Psychic Soviet (2006) and Supernatural Strategies for Making a Rock 'n' Roll Group (2013) that I wrote about in Vagant #2/2013. Amongst other things Mister Svenonius and his band were allies to the Riot Grrrl movement and toured with Bikini Kill, Bratmobile and Slant 6. Here's an early 90s flyer.
